John Gerard Walls

John Gerard Walls, of Philadelphia, passed away on June 17th, 2023 at the age of 53. He was the beloved husband of Jessica (nee Adams); the loving son of Francis and Frances Walls; the devoted father of Morgan (Josh), and Scott; the loving Pop-pop of Sophia, and Savannah; the cherished brother of Donna (Kevin), Ev, Fran (Kim), Kevin, Pat (Darlene), Carolyn (Kevin), Mary (Scott), and Rita; and proud uncle of 24 nieces and nephews, and 19 great nieces and nephews. John will also be greatly missed by his in-laws Stephen and Renee Adams.
John was born and raised in the Summerdale section of Philadelphia. He graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School; class of 1988. He worked professionally as a Mason for Watts Restoration with Local 1 BAC for 20 years. He loved Philadelphia sports and the Pittsburgh Steelers. John was a devoted family man, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and taking family trips to the New Jersey Shore. His big presence, bigger heart, and generous nature will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to John's Life Celebration on Thursday, June 22nd from 6 – 8 PM at the John F. Givnish Funeral Home, 10975 Academy Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154, and on Friday, June 23rd from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at St. Cecilia's Church, 535 Rhawn St, Philadelphia, PA 19111. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment services will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Rd. Bensalem, PA 19020.
