John E. Wiker, Sr., 82, of Quarryville, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Sandra F. (Fuller) Wiker, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.
Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Ralph C., Sr., and Marion (Whiteman) Wiker.
John began his career working as a welder and fabricator. In the early 1980s he transitioned to the mushroom industry as a mushroom grower, retiring from Oakshire Shiitake in 2007. John looked forward to hunting and fishing adventures each year. He especially loved to take rides around the Octorara Lake to remind him of his early days of growing up at the lake. John left an impact on many lives. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kimberly (Richard) Johnson, John (Susan) Wiker, Jr., Michael (Linda) Wiker, Mitchell (Kelly) Wiker, Justin Wiker, and Jonna (Jesse) McMichael, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a stepdaughter, Tammy Preuett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph C. Wiker, Jr., and sisters, Joyce Little and Debbie Wiker.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, April 22, at Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services, 227 West 4th Street, Quarryville, PA 17566, with Pastor Jamey Grooms officiating. There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 10 A.M. – 11 A.M. Interment will follow the service at Little Britain Presbyterian Cemetery.
