Johnny F. Baldwin, 86, passed away October 25th, 2024. He was born April 18, 1938 in Rutherford County, NC. He was the 12th child of the late Claude D. Baldwin and Grace (Nance) Baldwin.
He married his childhood sweetheart, Barbara Jean Baldwin (Coffey). Johnny and his wife moved to Virginia, where they raised their two daughters. He worked and retired from the railroad. He was also a successful entrepreneur, starting many businesses throughout his lifetime.
With the heart transplant he received 29 years, he was blessed to live everyday to the fullest.
He was a true man of God and a devoted family man. He enjoyed hiking and had a passion for racing. He raced in the All American League and the Daytona Dash in the late 80's and early 90's.
Words can't describe how much he meant to his family, and how much his family meant to him. He will truly be missed by many.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Kimberly Baldwin Elling and his four sisters and seven brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Barbara Baldwin. His daughter, Cindy Cutrell (Anthony). Three grandchildren, Jamie Bekier (Kayla) Mandy Garcia (Moises) and Christy Perry (Bubba). Five great grandchildren, Hailey, Savannah, Austin, Ryan and Christian. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A visitation will be held at the Hollomon-Brown, Kempsville Chapel, 1485 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464 on Wednesday October 30,2024 from 11:30am - 1:30pm. A service will be held after at 1:30pm, followed by internment at Colonial Grove Memorial Park. A reception will follow at Hollomon-Brown, Princess Anne Chapel, 3445 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456.
