Johnny Ray Turner, 67, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, at the Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Seneca, SC, on February 21, 1959, he was the son of the late Charles Leroy "Pop" Kay and the late Nellie Juanita Harvey Kay. Johnny was raised in Anderson and attended McDuffie High School. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran who served aboard the USS Midway and spent most of his career working in the residential construction industry. He enjoyed trips to the mountains, watching scary movies, listening to music, and spending time with his "youngin's."

Survivors include his daughter, Brandy Ann English of Anderson, SC, and her children, Allison English Loftis (Devon) and Scarlett Mae Murphy; son, Michael Ray Turner of Santa Fe, NM, and his children, Jacob Dean Turner, Haizly Ann Turner, and Elijah Ray Turner (expected March 27, 2026); daughter, Michele Renee Gonzilas (Jeremiah) of Merkel, TX, and her daughter, Lira Leigh-Ann Gonzilas.

Also surviving is his brother, Charles Edward "P-Nut" Kay (Mary Jane) of Moore, SC; and his most cherished friends, Thomas Craig Owens and Katherine Michelle Owens of Anderson, SC, and their children, Ava Grace Bannister, Natalie Claire Owens, and Connor Deacon Owens.

In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert "Bobby" Earl Turner and Steven Adrian Kay.

To celebrate Johnny's life, the family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Sullivan-King Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 E. Calhoun Street, Anderson, SC 29621.
