Jonathan Bernard Cummins

Our beloved son, brother, grandson, and nephew, Jonathan "J.B." Bernard Cummins, born September 23, 2022, was taken by the angels to be with our Lord in Heaven on March 22, 2023. J.B. was a member of the Crow Tribe and descendant of the Sioux and Apache Tribes. His clan was Big Lodge, and child of the Piegan. Although he was with us a short time, he brought us so much love, joy and an infinite number of cherished memories we will carry for our lifetime. He loved playing with his brothers, watching Cocomelon, cruising in the car, visiting grandma's house, and his favorite part of the day was when dad came home from work. He recently got two teeth, started to roll over, loved to fight us for our phones, and noticed his favorite people around him.
He is survived by his parents Zac and Elaine Cummins, brothers Lane and Connor Cummins, paternal grandparents Barney Cummins and Loretta Birdinground, maternal grandparents Jonathan Stone, Sr. and Victoria Lunderman; paternal great-grandfathers Floyd Horn and Ricky (Anne) Birdinground, and maternal great-grandmother Juanita Harrison, Janice Wilson, Mary Helen (Alex) Medicine Horse Jr., paternal uncles Jesse aunt(Elizabeth) Shane and Callan Cummins; paternal aunt Glendora (George) Rides Horse; maternal aunt Naomie (TJ) Stone. Paternal cousins: Aiyana, David, Luke, Zander, and Alex. Maternal cousins: LaZayne, Justin, Jadyss, Jesse, JaiLyn, and Tayanna.
Preceded in death by his namesake maternal uncle Jonathan Stone, Jr., paternal grandparents Bernard and Gloria Cummins and Ada Williamson Horn; maternal great grandparents Harold and Marina Stone, Sr., and Charles Owen.
Our extended families include the Cummins, Goes Ahead Pretty, Greybull, Bright Wings, Decrane, Birdinground, Williamson, Morrison, Male Bear, Stone, Blackhawk, Otter Stays In the Water, Yellowmule, Brass, Don't Mix, Sadda, Harris, Mull, Titla, Newman, Bread, Lunderman, Haukaas, Red Horn, Owen, and Harrison. Forgive us if we have forgotten anyone in our grief.

Visitation will be held at Dahl Funeral Chapel on Sunday, March 26th from 1:00-5:00. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 27th at 11:00 AM at Foursquare Church in Crow Agency with a graveside service at the Cummins Family Cemetery, Lodge Grass Creek Road, Lodge Grass, Montana. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at St. Dennis Church in Crow Agency following interment.
