Jonathan Newsom Obituary
Jonathan Dewayne Newson departed this life on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. He attended McMinn High School, and was a music enthusiast, writing and developing songs. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa McDermott Newsom, and sister, Talisha Newsom, several uncles Ronnie Lee McDermott, Wiliam Roy McDermott, James McDermott, Steven McDermott, Clifford Bailey ,and aunt Rubenia Moore.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving family of aunts, Effie King, Michelle Wade, uncle, Bryant McDermott, stepfather Jimmy Newsom and many cousins, along with a loving and caring friend Layla Peden, a daughter-in-love India Monae Goldston, father, Malcolm Linder, and many other relatives and longtime friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home- Chapel in Athens, TN with minister Mae Hammonds officiating and Minister Sherri Farmer assisting.
