With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Jorge Roque Ruiz, 71, on August 9, 2025. Born on December 22, 1953, Jorge lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering willingness to help anyone in need.
Jorge was the kind of person who could light up a room with his smile and make friends wherever he went. He had a deep love for fishing, often finding peace and joy on the water. For Jorge, fishing was more than a hobby-it was a way to connect with nature, reflect on life, and share quiet moments with those he loved.
He is survived by his devoted stepmother, Graciela Ruiz, his loving wife, Marta Martinez-Ruiz, and his children Edwin Ruiz (Zonia), Rebecca Mejia, and Cathy Finch (David). Jorge was a proud brother to Edy O'Brien, John Ruiz (Lida), Sonia Huitz (Roberto), and Robert Ruiz (Michelle). He was blessed with grandchildren Bryan, Isaac, and Julia, and one great-grandchild, Xxavier, as well as several nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.
Jorge's life was a testament to the power of compassion and family. He was always ready with a helping hand, a warm laugh, and a story to tell. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched.
Jorge's loved ones will remember him not with sorrow alone, but with gratitude for the time, love, and wisdom he shared so freely.
