Jose Antonio Diaz
May 22, 1960 – December 4, 2024
Tony Diaz passed peacefully on December 4, 2024. Born in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, he was an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his family, reading, exercising, nature, going for long walks throughout his beloved city of Chicago, and he especially loved his sister Martha's cooking. Tony was an active person his entire life, always preferring to be up and about enjoying life and living every moment to the fullest. He truly was the life of the party and never met a stranger. He talked to everyone, everywhere he went and no matter the location or situation, he always found a friend or became the friend that a person needed at that moment. Tony was a kid at heart and loved children, he loved all his nieces and nephews and was always the first one to play, laugh, and run with them. He was, without a doubt, the "fun uncle". Tony leaves behind his siblings, Jose Gustavo Diaz (Judy), Celeste Diaz, Martha Carrasco (Luis Miguel), Gregorio Diaz (Miriam), and David Vint (brother-in-law), his nieces and nephews Imillynda Guzman, Yayi Rucker (Todd), Greg Diaz (Nicky), Prisci Baxter (Bradley), Dave Vint (Jessica), Patricia Diaz-Hymes (Michael), Chante Rivera (Joelvyn), Valerie Vint (Sage), Jose G. Diaz, and Joseph Vint. Tony also leaves behind his great nieces and nephews, whom he adored, Kylie, Logan, Keegan, Bella, Ellie, Kaden, Jazmine, Jazlyn, Nataliese, Donovan, and Nathaniel. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Altagracia and Jose A. Diaz, his brothers Martin and Jose "Burucho" Diaz, and his sisters Sofia Diaz and Carmen Vint. He is loved by many and will be greatly missed, but we take comfort in knowing that he is at peace and walking once again with our Father in heaven.
"Jesus answered him, 'Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise."
-Luke 23:43
