Joseph Bosco Obituary
Joseph M. Bosco, beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025 after a fierce battle with cancer. Born to the late John and Catherine Bosco, Joe's life was a testament to the values of hard work and compassion that were instilled in him from a young age.
Joe grew up in the North End and attended Charlestown High School, where he formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. His career as an electrician for the Commuter Rail spanned nearly 40 years. He was known to his friends and colleagues at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 674 in Boston as a man who could always be relied upon, both on and off the clock.
Joe was a 50-year member of St. Anthony's Society in the North End, where he contributed his time and energy to various community charities and events, most notably St. Anthony's Feast. His dedication to the society, its members, and the neighborhood they served was an integral part of who he was, and it resonated with all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
Joe's greatest joy was his family. He was a loving husband to the late Mary K. "Katie" (Linnehan) Bosco, and a devoted father to his sons, Michael A. Bosco and his wife Erin of Canton, and the late Nicholas J. Bosco. His role as a grandfather to Henry, Zoe, and Emma was one that he wholly embraced and treasured. Joe's love for his grandchildren knew no bounds, and he relished every moment spent with them, imparting love, laughter, and ice cream in equal measure. Joe is also survived by his brother John Bosco and his wife Evelyn of Medford, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Those who had the privilege to know Joe will remember him as a loving, dependable, and generous man. His steady presence was a source of comfort and strength to his family and friends. As we bid a sad farewell, we take solace in the countless memories and the profound impact he has left on our hearts. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared.
Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton on Monday March 31st from 4:00-7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agatha Parish Milton on Tuesday April 1st at 10:30am. Burial to follow at Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Joe's memory.
