This past year has been traumatic within our family. Both myself and my daughter, Lisa, were good friends with Joe and I was a patient of his for almost 7 years. Joe knew more about medical issues than many specialists in other fields. He was constantly researching to increase is understanding of illnesses. What a treasure we all lost on the day he died. He was a friend you could call and he would patiently listen, provide advice, get you to laugh and leave you feeling better. That's a gift not many have. My sister, Linda was also a patient of his and wrote a beautiful poem about Joe which I will share with anyone who would like to read it. Email me at [email protected]. He was a star and I hope he's up there twinkling in the night sky. Love to you, Joe. Brenda Callahan and Family

The first time I met him I knew he had this special gift and kindness and purpose and it has been an honor to have even known him slightly because he made his mark and his exuberance for life in all he did ! He was loved by all who were lucky enough to be graced by his light ! Linda Kovacs

Joe was my friend for the past 9 years. Even after his return to NY, we stayed in touch and had long, sharing and loving telephone calls. I will miss him. I hope he finds peace and brings his special kind of love to those in Heaven.
