Joseph Kuligowski

Joseph Kuligowski, age 83, of Erie and formerly of McKean, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025. Born in Summit Township on January 26, 1942, he was the son of the late Joseph and Martha (Zaborowski) Kuligowski.

Raised in McKean, Franklin Center, and Edinboro Joe graduated from General McLane in 1960 and worked as a furniture technician at Arthur F. Schultz Co. for 45 years until his retirement.

He enjoyed woodworking and wood refinishing, winemaking, gardening, and painting. Joe obtained certification as a commercial artist at the Famous Artist School.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Ruth Ann (Pritoka) Kuligowski; a sister, Veronica Kuligowski; and three brothers, Edward, Robert, and Richard Kuligowski.

Survivors include his children, Lori Shea, husband Michael and Joseph Kuligowski, wife Dannie; four grandchildren, Dylan and Brady Shea and Joseph and Bentley Kuligowski; three sisters, Dorothy Sturm, Joan Chernicky, and Deborah Kuligowski; and one brother, Lawrence Kuligowski.

Friends may call on Saturday, October 4th at St. Francis Xavier Church, 8880 Main Street, McKean from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral mass at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
