Joseph A. Mantone

Joseph A. Mantone, 81, of Feasterville, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on July 26, 2023 at his home. He was born in Amsterdam, New York on September 13, 1941 to the late Ralph Mantone and the late Sofia Stratoti. Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Mantone, father of Joseph Mantone, Jr and his wife Natalie, Patricia Moore and her husband Norman, Teresa Gottshall and her husband James, Ralph Mantone and his wife Lauren, Mary Mantone, and the late Michael Mantone; grandfather of Christina, Alyssa, William and his wife Brittany, Tiffani, Michael, Jimmy, Joey, Anna, Sofia, Michael, Olivia, Patrick, Vincent, and Luca; great-grandfather of Harper and Makenna; brother of Rose Perri and her husband Joseph, Maria Nicodemo and her husband Joseph and the late Daniel Mantone; he is also survived by a loving extended family.
Joseph was raised and educated in Philadelphia. Following high school, he enlisted in the Philadelphia Police Academy, serving his community in the 6th, 93rd, 5th, and 7th Districts, and retiring as a Sergeant after more than 25 years of dedication to the city. During the Vietnam Conflict, Joseph also answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army and due to his concurrent public service with the Police Department, was assigned to the Army Reserves. For Joseph, free time was best spent with the family, he was beloved by all generations and was excitedly looking forward to the honor of soon becoming a great-grandfather. Joseph was a longtime season ticket holder for the Flyers and could be found faithfully cheering along for his Broad Street Bullies in Section 12, Row 12, Seat 12. Joseph will be sorely missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to join in Joseph's Life Celebration on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 8:30 A.M. until 10:15 A.m. at the John F. Givnish Funeral Home, located at 10975 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154 and to his Funeral Mass which will begin at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anselm Parish Church located at 12670 Dunksferry Road, Philadelphia 19154. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
