Joseph R. Muniz, 38, of York Township, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. He was the beloved husband of 19 years to Crystal D. (Darling) Muniz.
Mr. Muniz was born on August 1, 1985 in Taft, California. He was the son of Jose Muniz and the late Barbara (Brown) Muniz-Kalp.
Joseph proudly served in the United States Army for 9 years. Following his service to his country, he was employed by IntelliGenesis LLC in Maryland. Joe loved all things football; from playing, watching to coaching. He was a coach for the Dallastown Cougars and middle school team and even when he wasn't coaching, he would come to the field for games and do whatever was asked or needed done. Locally, Dallastown teams were his favorite, nationally, it was the Pittsburgh Steelers. Joe also enjoyed camping, fishing and motor cycles. Most of all, he loved being a family man and spending time with his wife and children.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Michael J. Muniz, Lilyanna M. Muniz and Matthew R. Muniz. He is also survived by his siblings, Joshua Kalp, Anthony Muniz, Michaella Muniz and Jessica Eskew; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher Muniz.
A viewing for Joe will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 3:00-5:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM, at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, then again from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Bethlehem Life Church, 109 E. Main St., Dallastown. A funeral service will be held at the church on Friday and will begin at 2:00 PM, with Pastor David Stough officiating.
