Publish in a newspaper

Joseph Daniel Murphy, 88 of Manalapan, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Centra State Medical Center in Freehold, New Jersey.
Born Saturday, July 17, 1937 in Staten Island, New York, he was the son of the late Cornelius and Loretta Murphy.
Joseph was raised in the Stapleton neighborhood on Staten Island. After graduating from Curtis High School he would go on to join the United States Army. Joseph proudly served his country, stationed at Ft. Dix. He earned his honorable discharge and returned to Staten Island.
Joseph would meet the love of his life, Joan Snyder. The couple began a courtship that turned into a lifelong love. After marrying, Joseph and Joan settled in the Great Kills neighborhood on Staten Island to raise their children. Joseph worked as a Custodial Engineer at P.S. 90 in Brooklyn. He was a member of both Local 891 and Local 94.
Joseph retired in 1995 and they would begin snow-birding to their home in New Port Richey, Florida. There Joseph would start the Golf League at the Gulf Harbor Community, as well as being named as the grounds commissioner. Along with golfing, Joseph was a big sports fan, early in life a fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers, then becoming a NY Mets fan, and also a NY Giants fan. For the past 14 years Joseph and Joan were a part of their community in Covered Bridge. More than anything Joseph loved being surrounded by his family, and he will be deeply missed by all those that were blessed to share his love.
Joseph was predeceased by his brothers, Neil and Jack Murphy, and by his son in law, Jay Indelicato.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Joan, by his loving children, Kathleen Indelicato, Lori Ann Vierno and her husband George, and Sharon Carreto and her husband Gus, and by his cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony, Nicole and her husband Kyle, Vincenza, Victoria, Lauren, Romeo, Isabella, Veronica, and Gus Jr., and by his grand-pets, Kobe, Stella, Malibu, and Leo.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at St. Thomas More Church located at 186 Gordons Corner Road Manalapan, New Jersey 07726. Interment will be in St. Rose Lima Cemetery, Freehold, NJ.
The family requests that donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are made in memory of Joseph.
