Joseph Richard "Dickie" Newton Jr., 71, of Hodgenville went to be with his Heavenly Father Friday October 24, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Dickie was born in Bardstown, March 18, 1954 to the late Joseph Richard "Dick" Sr.and Teresa Ann Greenwell Newton.
Dickie was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Hodgenville, He worked for Clark Beverages as a Bulk Merchandiser.
He was a loving husband, father, pappy, and brother, He was an avid softball player.
In addition to his parents, Dickie was preceded in death by his sister; Donna Hagan.
Dickie is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Lou Reed Newton of Hodgenville, one son Jordan Reed Newton of Lexington, one daughter, Beth Fifield of Raleigh N.C., two brothers, Michael Newton, Steven Newton both of Bardstown, three sisters, Sharon (Greg) Magyar, Teresa (Jack) Brown all of Bardstown, and Nancy (Otie) Clark of Virginia, three grandchildren, Trey, Hadley, and Dylan, two great-grandchildren, Mother - N- Law Georgia Reed, 1 brother-in- law, Steve (Chris) Reed, 3 Sister-in-laws, Kathy (Gary) Cruse, Janet (Glenn) Williams, and Donna (Mike) Bishop, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services for Joseph Richard "Dickie" Newton Jr., will be Monday October 27, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. at the William R. Rust Hodgenville Chapel with burial to follow at Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville with Brother Dwayne Gibson and Brother Sid Lewis officiating.
Visitation for Dickie will be Sunday October 25,2025 from 4 to 8 p.m. and will continue after 10 a.m. Monday until time of service at 3:30 in the William R. Rust Hodgenville Chapel.
