Joseph Schepis Obituary
Born February 12, 1932, in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late James Schepis and the late Maria Carmelo Clara Grafale. Joe was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also loved to cook and loved to go dancing. Joe served in the U.S. Coast Guard then served in the U.S. Air Force from which he retired after 20 years.
Joe was stationed in several different states in the U.S. and several countries throughout the world during his time in the Air Force. He then retired in Sumter.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Sumter; two daughters, Sandy Schepis of Sumter and Luana Schepis Sands of Savannah, GA; three grandchildren, Savanna Schepis of Burlington, NC, Ginger Schepis of Randleman, NC and Aurora Schepis of Eden, Maryland.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
