Joseph Ivy Solet "Bro. Joe Solet", passed on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Brother Joe was a native of Houma, LA and resident of Dulac, LA.
Family and friends of the family are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 9:00am until service time. Ministry services will follow visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am with burial taking place in Holy Family Cemetery in Dulac, LA.
Brother Joe is survived by his loving family; his children, Joseph Paul Solet (Merita), Ediana Bihm, Diane Bourg (Thomas), Dora Bourg (Jack); brothers, June Solet (Linda), Jimmy; grandchildren, Marchella, Shelly, Lesley, Edwina, Thomas Jr., Cassandra, Isaac, Joseph B., Kellie, Candace, Miranda, Joseph S. Jr., forty-four loving great grandchildren, eight-teen loving great-great grandchildren.
Brother Joe is preceded in passing by his wife, Margaret Mary Solet; parents, Robert and Eve Solet; sons-in-law, Johnnie Bihm and Ernest Verdin, brothers, Pierre August Solet, Robert Solet and Antoine Solet; sisters, Eva Catherine Solet, and Anna Mae Solet.
Brother Joe was a loving husband for over fifty years to his wife, Margaret. Joseph was the best father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather, his children and grandchildren could have ever asked for.
He had a commitment to the community he served as a commercial fisherman for over fifty years.
His love for his family was deep, unconditional and constant. Brother Joseph shared the Word of God for nearly seventy years. Through his faith, he helped lead many people to the Lord and that legacy will live on far beyond today.
The family would like to thank, The Broadway Elder Nursing Home in Lockport LA for all the love, care, and support provided to Joseph and his family.
