Joseph was born on August 15, 1943 in Puerto Rico and moved to New York, where he embarked on a remarkable journey of service and dedication. He enrolled in the Coast Guard, where he became a technical engineer, a career that laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Joseph then joined what is now Verizon, where he worked for an impressive 46 years, becoming a respected figure in the industry.
In 1984, Joseph purchased a home in North Bergen, New Jersey, where he resided for 40 years. His home was a testament to his dedication to his family, providing a warm and loving environment for those he cherished.
Joseph was predeceased by his mother, Victoria Torres, his father, Jose Torres, and his daughter, Ana Maria Torres. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Cecelia Torres, his children, Joseph Torres and Victoria Torres, eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy, and his legacy will live on through them.
Joseph Torres was a man of unwavering commitment and love. His life was a testament to the values of hard work, family, and service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was my first boss in New York Telephone (NYNEX, Bell Atlantic, Verizon), but over time I started to feel like he was a father to me.
I would like to offer my condolences to his family. I feel your loss, as if it is my own pain.
