Joseph C. Vessio

On Tuesday, March 15th, 2022, Joseph Vessio, beloved Son, Brother, and Uncle passed away at age 33 at Jersey Shore Hospital.
Joseph was born in Freehold, NJ on October 1st, 1988, to Joseph Vessio and Carmela (Moccia) Vessio. He lived in Freehold with his family most of his life. He graduated from Ramapo College with a bachelor's degree in 2014. After college he worked in retail.
Joseph had a great appreciation for movies and TV Shows. With an affinity for writing, he enjoyed drafting movie plots and ideas. He also enjoyed playing video games online with his friends and loved playing poker with friends as well as online. Joseph handled many unique challenges and adversities his entire life that most people will never experience. He handled these challenges with such courage and resiliency that it would be easy for family and friends to not even realize or forget they were even there. He was quiet but had a profound impact on his family and those close to him. He was a kind, warm hearted person who brought so much enjoyment and laughter to those around him with his unique personality. He had a way of dropping funny, quick witted comments into situations that would make everyone laugh and they would become stories that those around him will continue to share and remember. He left so many great memories with his family, and he will be missed in a way that cannot be described.
Joseph is survived by his loving parents Joseph and Carmela, his younger brother Justin, his older brother James and James's wife Cassandra, and two nieces Giuliana and Gianna. He is also survived by a large family with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, Toms River NJ on Friday, March 18th from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. The funeral will be held at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine on March 19th at 10:30am. Arrive at the funeral home at 9:00 AM to follow to Church. Cremation will be private.
