Jamie White, 66, of Newark, Delaware peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his family on Monday, April 4, 2022. Born in Wilmington on November 11, 1955, he was the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (D'Amico) White.
Jamie was a graduate of John Dickinson High School, class of 1973, and received his certification training in plumbing from Delcastle Technical High School. He worked as a self-employed plumber and retired in 2008. Jamie enjoyed his second career as a school bus driver and was well loved by the many students he transported throughout the years before retiring in 2016. A generous and giving person, he opened his heart and his home to many. He loved a good card table, Cape May and the Delaware beaches. But there is nothing he loved more than spending time with his family (pets!) and many friends.
Jamie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon (Hammed) White; his children, Kara Schilling (Brian), Eric White, Joseph White III (Kate) and Michael White (Candice); his grandchildren, Harrison, Olivia, Rhys, Madison, Hudson and Eloise.
He was predeceased by his brother, Robert White.
Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark on Tuesday, April 12 from 9:30-10:45AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jamie may be made to Sean's House, 136 Main Street, Newark, DE 19711 (https://www.unlockethelight.com).
