Josette O'Neal Smith

Josette O'Neal Smith, 75, widow of David Smith, died Thursday, October 16, 2025 at The Willows of Harrodsburg. Born December 23, 1949 in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Violet Quire O'Neal. Josette was retired having worked at Murphy's Landing and Shakertown, and was also a babysitter for several years. She enjoyed listening to music, crafting, and spending time with her grandkids.
Survivors include two daughters: Tammy (Ricky) Releford and Evelyn (Kevin) Edwards all of Harrodsburg; her grandchildren: David Smith, Rusty Edwards, Cody Releford (Franki Simmons), Zaine Edwards, and Leonna (Roger) Hobbs; one step grandson Chris Releford; her great grandchildren: Dixie Hobbs, Daisy Hobbs, Hunter Hobbs, Peyton Hobbs, Emma Jo Hobbs, Eli Edwards, Fredrick Edwards, Kingston Smith, Kaelynn Edwards, Riley Edwards, Dakota Edwards, Bryan Tyler, Trace Adams, and Riverlynn Releford.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Sugar Johnson, Lizzie Smith, and Gerri Manley.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Gary Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with David Smith, Rusty Edwards, Cody Releford, Zaine Edwards, Leonna Hobbs, and Kevin Edwards serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
