Joshua Wayne Powell, age 42, of Panama City Beach, FL, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
Born August 26, 1982, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of Tenna Warren Bedenbaugh and her husband Jerry "Bebo" and Wiley Powell and his wife Darla.
Josh was a graduate of Crescent High School Class of 2000 and attended Clemson University. He was an Assistant Manager with Seascape Resort in Destin, FL. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Iva. One of his most favorite things to do was take his dog for walks along the beach which he loved so much. He also enjoyed working on cars, driving his 1995 Jeep Wrangler, and spending time on the lake. He was an avid fan of the Clemson Tigers.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Kayla Hanks (Travis) and Stephanie Hanks (Stephen); grandmother, Connie Powell; extended family, Rhonda Lewis and Tony "Bean" Lewis; 4 nephews and 2 nieces. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Bear.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.W. "Dub" Powell, Paul and Frances Warren, James and Linda Keown, and Wilbur and Margarete Bedenbaugh.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 12:00-1:30 pm at First Baptist Church of Iva. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jerry Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Iva City Cemetery.
Flowers are optional, or memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Iva, PO Box 475, Iva, SC 29655, or PAWS, 1320 US-29, Anderson, SC 29626.
The family will be at their respective homes.
