Joshua Murphy

Joshua Murphy, age 22, of Jasper, passed away July 11, 2025 in Maryland. Joshua was born on October 16, 2002, in California and grew up in Jasper, Georgia. He recently graduated from the University of North Georgia with a degree in Cyber Security and had been accepted into the Master's program at Georgia Institute of Technology, where he planned to further pursue his passion for technology and innovation.

Joshua had a deep love for sports - especially basketball, baseball, and tennis - and was a devoted fan of the Los Angeles Lakers. He also had a strong appreciation for cars, particularly BMWs, and took pride in his style, often seen sporting his favorite red clothing and a fresh pair of Jordans.

Joshua will be remembered for his ambition, bright spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Joshua is survived by his mother, Susan Crosby of Talking Rock; sisters, Faith Murphy of Talking Rock, Bridget Murphy of Talking Rock; grandfather, John Crosby of Oregon; aunts, Shirleen Bosen, Annette Robbins; uncles, Rob Crosby, Valgene Kreutzer; and many close and loving friends.

A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 noon, Tuesday, July 29, 2025 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Tuesday at Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
