Joshua A. Soto
"Josh"
Joshua A. Soto passed away on January 5th 2024 with his wife of 49 years, Mercy, by his side. He is survived by Mercy, children Joshua J. Soto and Sarah Asher, Grandchildren Logan, Charlee, and Lily Asher. Brother; Steve (Andrea) Soto, Brothers-in-law; Bill (Adela) Brietzke, and Robert (Rose) Hinojosa as well and a number of nieces and nephews. Proceeded to paradise by his Parents; Jose and Aurora Soto and Sister, Priscilla (Rick) Albanese.
Raised on Archer Avenue in Chicago, Josh grew up in a loving home and learned the value of hard work at a young age. He got married, started a family, worked full time, and completed his bachelor's degree from Purdue University simultaneously. He had a professional career throughout the Chicagoland area, in accounting and made great relationships both personally and professionally. Josh retired to Florida to enjoy his grandkids as much as possible.
A devout Christian, Josh was an active and faithful member of the Church of God. He actively participated in the choir, loved teaching Sunday school, coached the softball team, and held the position of Deacon. He strived to be a Godly example to all he interacted with.
Josh was also an active member of the community participating with his children's youth soccer and softball teams. As an avid reader and history buff, he enjoyed filling his evenings with a good book or Civil War documentary. Josh was also a diehard Chicago Bears and Cubs fan nervously watching for what new way they would "mess this up." In Florida he enjoyed the social scene in his community and made great friends that were a blessing to him for the remainder of his life.
