Williamsport, MD – Joy Virginia Bryan, 91, of Williamsport, MD, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at her home.
She was born on July 19, 1934, in Williamsport, MD to the late Gyrlen Leo and Estella Virginia (Poffenberger) Bowers.
Joy was a 1952 graduate of Williamsport High School.
She was a Homemaker.
She was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church Williamsport, MD.
Joy enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, and going on bus trips with her good friends.
She is survived by her husband, John Frederick Bryan, Sr. whom she married on June 2, 1961; son John Frederick Bryan, Jr. of Williamsport, MD; sister Alva Jean (Bowers) Harsh (Don) of Hagerstown, MD; brother Donald Ray Bowers (Doris) of Williamsport, MD; grandson Darian J. Bryan (Faith); granddaughter Jenna L. Bryan and her fiancée Chris Ward; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Virgil Leo "Skip" Bowers and a nephew Donald R. "Boomer" Harsh,III.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the following Hospice employees: Kari, Tim, Tina, Sandy, and Marlee.
Services and burial will be private.
