Joy Anne Cook White "Ninny", 78, of Newnan Georgia passed away peacefully June 18, 2025. Born in Atlanta, GA, July 7, 1946, she was the daughter of James Clifford Cook and Margaret Francis Roberts Cook. Joy graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, AL where she met her husband of 49 years, Charles. Her teaching career included years at Mountain Brook Junior High, Colonial Hills Christian, Madras Middle, and Canongate Elementary. She was a beloved teacher who impacted hundreds of students as she created a learning environment based on building relationships with students and equipping them with tools to love and appreciate the Bible, literature, and history.

Her interests included sewing, playing games, baking cakes and other goodies, gardening, singing, celebrating holidays, prepping school projects, watching the Braves and cheering on The Tide. Joy brought immense joy to others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Andrew White, Sr. She is survived by her children C. Andrew White, Jr. and wife Kacey, and Amy Vickery, all of Newnan; grandchildren Abigail "Doobie", Mary Kathryn "Buggie", and C. Andrew White III "Little Bear"; precious dog McDougal "Doogie"; siblings Rebecca McNair (Woodrow) and James Cook Jr. (Alice); nieces and nephews; and a loving extended family.
