Joyce Ann Alexander

Joyce Alexander, 89 year old Woodward resident, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at the Fort Supply Baptist Church with Reverend Todd White officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery.
Joyce Ann (Knight) Alexander was born on May 19, 1936 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Louis Raymond and Birdie Elsie (Janow)Knight. She grew up in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School. Joyce was united in marriage to John Alexander in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Buffalo, Oklahoma. Joyce worked as a cook for the Department of Corrections at William S. Keys Correctional Facility then later she continued her job as a cook at Fort Supply Public School.
She enjoyed reading and watching OU football and softball. Spending time with her friends and family as well as taking care of them brought her the most joy in life.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband John Alexander; parents Louis and Birdie Knight; sons Roy Givens and James Alexander; daughters Julie Givens and JoAnn Alexander; brothers Ronnie Knight and John Knight; sisters Betty Jean and Mary Lou; and grandchildren Valerie and Jason Woodard, Vaughn Austin Woodard and Johnathan Deion.
She is survived by her daughters Hallie Alexander, Janet Alexander; sisters Ina Richardson and Martha Hancock; grandchildren Frankie and Deidra Smith; great grandchildren Jason Woodard and wife Kaitlyn, Jarrod Woodard and wife Ashton, Vanessa Woodard and boyfriend Wade Bitter, Brandon Smith, Jaelen Smith, Jariko Ford, Jaron Ford, and Jamin Ford; and great great grandchildren Julian and Asher Woodard, Tucker and Kache Woodard, Brailey Flor-Smith, and Kaiyah Ford; nephew Nick Knight and other beloved nieces and nephews.
