Joyce W. Brown, age 84, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Fulton Center in Gloversville, NY.
Born on April 3, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Elizabeth (Bailey) White.
She married her husband, Gary Brown on August 3rd, 1973. They were happily married for 44 years until his passing on July 9, 2017.
Joyce's life was characterized by her intelligence, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family and career. For several years, Joyce served as a secretary for the Department of Social Services in Fulton County. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from quilting and gardening to the timeless music of Elvis. Above all, Joyce treasured spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly Montanye and Bridgett Olson; brothers, Jack White, Thomas White, Paul White, Dick White, and Scott White; sisters, Margie Batty, Lois Fisher, and Connie Jeffers; grandchildren, Mark Hime, Marcy Montanye, Codie Montanye, TJ Olson, and Linnea Melucci; great-grandchildren, Trenton, Madeline, Hunter Hime, Wesson, Eleanor Olson, Colt, and Briar Sweet; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joyce is also predeceased by her brother, Larry White; sisters, Willa Schermerhorn, and Alice Almy.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
