Joyce Ann Clay departed this life for Heaven on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital. She was 71 years old. Joyce was born to the late Nannie Lee and Granderson Robinson, on September 25, 1950, in Amelia, VA.
Joyce became a member of Promise Land Baptist Church where she served on various ministries throughout her time of being a member. She truly loved attending her church. She attended Russell Grove High School.
Joyce loved spending time being with family and friends, especially nieces and nephews whom she cherished as her own. As one niece said, "even though she couldn't drive, she always found a way to show up".
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Nannie and Granderson; brothers, Roosevelt and Herbert Robinson; sisters, Delores Patrick, Hattie Robinson, Angelina Whitted, Ernestine Crews, Nannie Owens and Audrey Robinson. She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Elizabeth (Lawrence) Owens and Zoranna Clay; two granddaughters; Latasha and Jalesa Owens; one grandson, Javier Owens; one great grandchild, Aleasia Watson; two godsons, Darrell Owens and Jalen Jones; siblings, Gracie Butler, William 'Bo' Robinson (Becky), Ruth Washington, Louis 'LV' Robinson (Ann), Jacqueline Perry, Kathleen 'Boo Boo' Jones (Robert), and Marian Royal; brother–in-law, Joseph Owens (Nannie); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
