Joyce Daily Obituary
Joyce graduated from McLeansboro High School and furthered her education at Lockyears Business College in Evansville, IN. Her professional career spanned several decades in secretarial and administrative assistant positions, where she served with dedication at International Harvester, Fortuna Air Force Station in Crosby, ND, Civil Service in Granite City, IL, First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon for 25 years, and the Kaskaskia River District Office of the United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon.
On February 27, 1954, Joyce married Donald Daily in McLeansboro, IL. Together they built a loving life and family that would span many decades.
A devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon for over 50 years, Joyce was deeply involved in her community. She actively served on various church and school boards and committees, and remained a long-time supporter of the McLeansboro Foxes, maintaining her connection to her hometown throughout her life.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Daily; her parents, Frank and Vadah Edwards; and her sister, Betty Knollman.
She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Daily Knauss and her husband Kevin Knauss of Jacksonville, FL; Sandra Rapp and her husband Greg Rapp of Dahlgren, IL; her grandson, Jack Aydt; and step-grandsons Logan Rapp, Ethan Rapp, and Hunter Rapp.
Joyce will be remembered for her faithful service to church and to her community, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her legacy of dedication and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.
The family would like to thank Joyce's special caregivers at GreenTree Assisted Living for their kindness and compassion.
