Rochester – Joyce Dumont, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends Wednesday August 21, 2024, at Webster at Rye following a period of failing health.
She was born February 19, 1949, in Fall River, MA, the daughter of the late John and Sarah (Gordon) Cashman.
Joyce had worked as an insurance agent and along with Harvey Bernier started Bernier Insurance Agency. When she was not working, she enjoyed spending time with family the most. The moments she cherished most were those she would spend with her soulmate, Dewey traveling the Maine coastline, especially her favorite York Beach as well as trips to North Conway and various Florida destinations. She absolutely adored her children, and that love grew even more with her grandchildren, whom she would often surprise them with little gifts for no other reason than it was who she was. What Joyce truly enjoyed was seeing other people happy and she embraced the most positive look at life even in the most trying times, which is why many would look to her for guidance, which she always provided.
Members of her family include her husband Marc Dumont of Rochester, NH, children Heather Stachura and husband Brandon of Rochester, NH, and Derek John Cangello and wife Mary of Dover, NH, grandchildren Brienna, Abigail, Griffin, and Lysander, siblings Brad Cashman, Marilyn, Hopkins, and Lorree Manchester, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her twin brothers Robert and Roy Cashman.
Family and friends may visit Friday August 30, 2024, from 2Pm – 4PM at the R. M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH. A brief service will follow at 4PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bluefield Project who are looking to find a cure for FTD. https://www.bluefieldproject.org/
