Joyce Dunivan Obituary
Joyce Dunivan, 73, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was born in Louisville on September 14, 1952 the daughter of William Bascom "Bill" and Christine (McIntire) Dooley. She was a retired executive secretary for Textron in Washington, D.C. She graduated from South Central High School in 1970. She attended Spencerian College in Louisville 1970-1971. In 1971, she went to Falls Church, VA and went to work for the FBI in Washington, D.C. In 1973, she went to work for Textron in Washington, D.C. after 45 years with Textron as executive secretary she retired in 2018. She was an avid scrapbooker and made scrapbooks for everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, bonus mom, Ruth Ann Dooley, brothers-in-law, Steve Martin, Kenny Blackman, nephew, Jamie Martin and great nephew Eldon Howard Dooley. She is survived her husband Robert Lee Dunivan of Warrenton, VA; bonus son, Robert Lee Dunivan, III of Phoenix, AZ; bonus grandchildren, Taylor and Brice Dunivan both of Phoenix, AZ; siblings, William "Bubby" Dooley (Roberta) of Elizabeth, IN, Mary "Alice" Shipman (Doug) of Jeffersonville, IN, Donna Martin of New Albany, IN, Valarie Blackman of New Albany, IN, Sherri England (Jerry) of Palmyra, IN, and Kathy Sneed (Jim) of Paoli, IN. and ex sister-in-law Patricia "Tricia" Ferren Dooley Jackson; nieces and nephews, David (Jenny), Daniel (Krista Hunt), Jeremy (Kristina) and Jimmy (Sharlene Donan) Dooley, Ben Shipman, Stevie (Kecia Lamb) and Lisa Martin, Christina (Ron) Wilson, Deanna (Daryl) Levell, Ryan (Brandi Hignite) England, Kristen (Michael) Elrod, Bethany (Michael) Davis, Alecia (Will) Ferrell, Ashley England, Matt Sneed, Dustin Sneed and several great and great great nieces and nephews. She has many Dunivan brother in laws and sister in laws with several nieces & nephews along with many friends in the Virginia area; also surviving are very special friends Jeannie and Paul Schroeder and the Schilmiller family of New Salisbury, IN.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Friday, December 19, 2025 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana. Pastor Richard Goodwin will be the officiant. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, IN. Visitation will be from 2 PM to 7 PM Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon and again on Friday from 9 AM until the service at 11 also at the funeral home.
