Joyce Eileen Hart, 81, of Boone, Iowa, passed away at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone on Monday, June 9, 2025. She had been a resident of Eastern Star since January 2022.
Joyce was born on December 16, 1943, in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of DeWayne and Edna (Conard) Madden. She was a graduate of Boone High School and attended Trinity College in Chicago, Illinois. On June 29, 1963, she married Donald Hart at the Evangelical Free Church in Boone.
Joyce was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, PTA, and the State PTA Board. Her hobby was art. She painted and drew many great pictures. Joyce and her husband, Don, were members of Community Betterment of the Chamber of Commerce. She was a great mother, wife, and friend!
She is preceded in death by her sister, Linda Madden-Anderson, and her parents, DeWayne and Edna Madden.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Donald Hart; son, Mark Hart; daughter, Angela (Dave) Kolker; grand-daughter, Sasha Kolker; grandson, James (Lara) Hart; grandson, Deandra Steger; grand-daughter, Danni Steger; grandson, John Steger; great-grandson, Jude Hart; brothers: Craig (Cindy) Madden, and Russell (Kris) Madden; sister, Valerie (Glade) Parker, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Grace Episcopal Church in Boone.
Memorial services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Boone. Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be before the memorial service from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
