Joyce Hayden Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home - Osceola on Oct. 25, 2022.
Joyce Marie Beck Hayden left this earth to be with her savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, and be back with her husband of 55 years, Milton Charles Hayden, on October 23, 2022, at the age of 85. Joyce was born in Richmond, Virginia on May 27, 1937. She survived being brought up in a broken family and orphanage to accomplish many achievements during her life. Milton and Joyce's proudest achievement was having their three children graduate from Clemson University: Gary Beck Hayden, BSME 1982, Milton Charles Hayden Jr, BSIM 1984, and Kim Marie Latimer-Grannan BS Mgt, Certification in Education and MS in Reading 1990.
Joyce was schooled in nursing and worked in Norfolk, Virginia, as a private duty nurse. She was an accomplished seamstress, gardener, and homemaker and was involved in many different volunteer activities with her church and children's schools. She loved to play cards and games. One of her favorite things to do was watch Clemson sports. It did not really matter which one was on, she was looking for an opportunity to support "her" Tigers. Before Clemson came along, she would be heard yelling at the quarterback of the Washington Football team for many years.
She loved being a mom, grandma, and great-grandma and invested her time and resources into doing as many activities as possible. She became an "Apple Computer" nut, and was all about creating photo slideshows and movies in her later years.
Joyce is survived by her three children, and her grandchildren: Jonathan, Matthew, Natalie, Melissa, Amanda, Megan, Eddie, Kevin, Steven, Katie, Lauren, Megan, Mackinzie and Kole, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Southerncare South Bend Hospice, 1626 E. Day Road Mishawaka, IN 46545.
