Jagodzinski, Joyce Mae (Caron)
Joyce passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at the age of 93 as a result of kidney failure.
She was born in Otsego Township, MN to Clarence and Corinne Caron. In her early years, she attended elementary school in Bu alo until her parents moved to Minneapolis where she attended Holy Cross Catholic School. It was there that she met a persistent young man named James Jagodzinski (Jim) who insisted on walking her home from school. She spent many happy summers at the farm in Rogers, MN that belonged to her maternal grandparents, John and Flora Milless. She attended high school at Saint Anthony of Padua. After graduation she went to work at Northern States Power Company and was proud to represent them as a candidate for the Aquatennial Queen in the early 1950's. She married Jim Jagodzinski in 1954 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Following their honeymoon, they moved to Ft. Worth, TX for Jim's military duty in the Air Force. They returned to Minnesota upon completion of his service and raised their family of five children. Joyce was instrumental in helping Jim launch his business, North Central Instruments, in 1967. Over the years, they made their home in Minneapolis, Robbinsdale, Golden Valley, Orono, Tonka Bay and Wayzata in Minnesota and also enjoyed homes in Bonita Springs and Naples, Florida after retirement, returning to Minnesota for holidays and the summer months. Joyce enjoyed cooking, family dinners, reading fiction novels, daily crossword puzzles, her weekly hair salon appointments, watching The Tonight Show, attending various sporting events of her children and grandchildren an following her favorite professional sports teams.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, James M Jagodzinski, her parents, Clarence and Corinne Caron, her sister Carol and brother-in-law John Brennan (Jack); her in-laws Nicholas and Joan Jagodzinski; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Barbara and Eugene Roback, daughter Caron Jagodzinski and grandson Dennis McDermott. She is survived by her children Mary Leizinger (Patrick), Jayne Myhre (Gary), James Jagodzinski (Margaret) and Joseph Jagodzinski (Kelly); grandchildren Matthew Leizinger (Alicia), Corinne Myhre, Kathryn Blaisdell (Andrew), Kelsey Myhre, James McDermott (Sophie), Jacqueline Jagodzinski, Jessica Talalenko (Greg), Nicholas Jagodzinski and great grandchildren, Fiona Leizinger, Camper Thoennes, Juliet Talalenko, Mae Blaisdell, and Stella McDermott.
Mass and Christian burial at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 630 E Wayzata Blvd, Wayzata. Visitation preceding at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope and lunch at Regatta Condominium party room, 875 Lake St. N, Wayzata will follow.
