Joyce Moore Juliuson passed away on October 28, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born on July 27, 1944, to Robert and Earline Shields in Era, Texas. Joyce was a graduate of Hamlin High School and received an associate's degree in marketing from Tarrant County Junior College.
Joyce married the love of her life, Larry Gene Moore, on June 1, 1962, in Hamlin TX. At that time, she became an older sister to Larry's sisters, Kathy and Helen, which continued throughout the remainder of her life. Larry and Joyce lived in Abilene, Muskogee, Arlington, and finally settling in Azle, Texas in 1976. From there they raised 3 children: Shelly, Larry Scott and Randy. They went on to have 8 grandchildren by Shelly, Scott, and Randy as well as 4 bonus grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Larry and Joyce also raised their beloved Mickey, a white schnauzer.
Joyce worked for Safeway for 15 years and was a sales rep for Intercraft for 20+ years. Joyce & Larry attended the Azle Church of Christ for many years followed by Aurora Baptist Church. They were involved in many dance associations across Texas and Oklahoma including the Texas Country & Western Dance Association winning multiple awards for their dancing which included waltz, double two-step, west coast swing, and the push.
Joyce was affectionately known as Mimi to her grandchildren and loved being actively involved in their lives, spending as much time as possible with them. Joyce was loved and cherished by her friends and family, including many close friends whom she considered family.
After the loss of her beloved husband, Larry Moore, on March 8, 2005, Joyce found love again and married John Henry Juliuson on June 16, 2012. John shared Joyce's love of dancing which they continued to enjoy together while their health permitted. Joyce and John also enjoyed traveling and living life to its fullest.
Joyce was a master seamstress, a talented photographer, poet, and painter. She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting, quilting and/or crocheting over 100 blankets and quilts during her lifetime.
Joyce was preceded in death by: Her husband: Larry Moore, Her parents: Robert and Earline Shields, and Larry's parents: William and Katherine Moore
Joyce is survived by: Her sisters: Bobbie Patterson and Bonnie (Penny) and Albert Miller; Her husband John H Juliuson; Joyce & Larry's children: Shelly Waddell, her husband Max, and their children Whitney, Lauren, Macy, and Timothy; Larry Scott Moore, his wife Della, and their children Justin and Sarah; Randy Moore and his children, Taylor and Austin, whom he shared with her former daughter-in-love, Lee Ann Brewer, and his wife Tammy and their children Curtis, Kirsten, Brent, & Justin; John's children: Alan Juliuson, Donna Durham, Dwight Juliuson, Ralph Juliuson, Juanita Peterfeso, Cindy Manuel, Jerry Manuel, Sammy Manuel and David Manuel; multiple grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to join in Joyce's memorial service on November 4, 2022, at 2 pm at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 South Main Street, Keller, Texas 76248 followed by her burial in Neinda, Texas on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 2 pm.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm, Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 South Main Street, Keller, Texas 76248. Family and friends are invited to join in Joyce's memorial service on November 4, 2022, at 2 pm at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 South Main Street, Keller, Texas 76248 followed by her burial in Neinda, Texas on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 2 pm.
