Joyce M. McCoy, 91, of Howard passed away on Wednesday morning, September 3, 2025 Brookdale Senior Living in Mount Vernon. She was born on May 29, 1934 in Washington, PA to the late Carl and Edith (Clingan) Lang.
Joyce graduated from Trinity High School in Washington, PA and then attended Penn Commercial Business Technical School. For many years, Joyce worked in the banking industry for several different banks. She was a member of Mulberry Church in Mount Vernon. Joyce loved to go camping, enjoyed cooking and collecting cookbooks, and spending time with her canine companion.
Joyce is survived by her devoted husband, Richard H. McCoy, whom she married on May 30, 1981; daughter, Deborah Covaleski Dobbins of Knoxville, TN; stepson, Douglas McCoy of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Bethany Burton of Knoxville, TN and Jonathan Hurst of Pittsburgh, PA; and great grandchildren, Thalan and Junalee Cantrell of Knoxville, TN.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Rae Covaleski; her brother, Wray Lang; and a stepson, Michael McCoy.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of a memorial service celebrating the life of Joyce at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd., Mount Vernon with Pastor Doug Pummell officiating. The eulogy will be delivered by her granddaughter, Bethany.
A private burial will be held in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery near Seville at a later date.
