Joyce Richardson, loving mother and wife, passed away at the age of 67, on May 23rd, 2024. Originally from Chicago, Joyce grew up in Illinois and completed her Bachelors of Science from Illinois State University. Joyce moved west in her early 20s, yearning for the world of unknown adventures (and definite sunny days) that California could provide. Upon moving to California, Joyce made many friends, ran marathons, participated in triathlons, traveled the world, got married, became a mother, and cooked many fantastic meals. She also loved wine, and worked at some wineries throughout her life in Sonoma. Joyce had unwavering dedication to her family and friends that made her unique. She exuded laughter, joy and selflessness, and aimed to always help others. Joyce was a woman that many knew, and all loved. This loss is intangibly large. She is survived by her Husband, George, children, Lily and Nicolas, along with brothers Bob, Gerry and Tom, and Sister, Kathy.

Joyce was a pleasure to work with at Cline Cellars in Sonoma. And, an inspiration at the gym! So strong and so efficient. And, so glad to have made her acquaintance.

I met Joyce in a very unusual way, we met at a dude ranch in Northern California. It was a singles event, neither of us made a love connection but instead we became fast friends. I lived in San Mateo and Joyce lived in San Anselmo. We would meet for dinner, drinks, hiking and the next thing you know; we're training for the Honolulu marathon. We organized girl's trips to Sea Ranch where we combined her friends and mine. Such fun memories! Eventually she met George and I met my guy, we went to each other's weddings. I moved to Santa Rosa and Joyce to Sonoma, she had Lily and I had my daughter a couple of years later. We would meet for dinner once in a while but life got busy and the time in between seeing each other grew longer. I was so very sad when I heard that she passed away and send my heartfelt condolences to all of her family and friends. Rest in peace my friend.

Joyce was one of the rare, loving souls who left us too young. We feel privileged to have known her kindness and generosity of spirit and feel honored to be connected to her daughter Lily who will carry on in her Mother's honor. With love and sympathy, Jean and Albert
