Joyce M. Schumann
Bay City, MichiganJoyce Schumann passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, leaving behind a life remembered for love, faith and quiet strength. She was deeply loved by her family, cherished by her friends, and respected by all who knew her.
Joyce Marie Molyneaux was born in Bay City to Clarence and Beatrice (Voss) Molyneaux. Joyce met James Schumann on a blind date where they danced the night away on New Year's Eve 1966. They got married six months later on June 3, 1967, and enjoyed 58 wonderful years together. Their love story was one of devotion and shared happiness. Joyce was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and regularly volunteered there. Throughout her life, Joyce painted thousands of ceramic gifting decorations for all seasons to her loved ones. Her crafting skills were evident in the small details on each piece. Joyce loved to travel and visited Germany, Paris, the Bahamas, along with regular trips to Florida with her siblings. In the summers, Joyce would spend her time at her beloved Cottage on Sage Lake.
Above all, Joyce loved her family and devoted her time as Mom and Nana to supporting her children and grandchildren at school functions, sports games, and daily phone calls. Her home had an open-door policy bursting with dogs and kids and her motto was, "There's always room for one more." You never left hungry from Joyce's Tuesday night meals where she prepared feasts of meat and potatoes. Joyce was a bonus nana to Justin, Cassandra, Nate, Spencer, Stacey, Johnny, Erin, Veronica, and Morgan.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Jill (Mark) Morse-Duran, Jennifer Schumann (Paul), Jeremy (Stacie Richard) Schumann and Joshua (Linsey) Schumann, grandchildren: Kayla (Andrew) McLocklin, Jarod Morse, Nicholas Morse (Hannah Davis), Hannah (Eric) Hayden, Claire Rousse (Braeden Foerster), Taylor Schumann (Kylie Krzysiak), Brittany (Greg) Schumann, and Griffin Schumann, Savannah Knapp, Sydney Boquette, Ty and Leah Schumann, great grandchildren: Leland and Roman Schumann, Kinsley and Bryson McElyea, Shelby Boquette, Maximus and Maeve Knapp, Jace, Ember, and Jack Morrison, siblings: Terry (Molly) Molyneaux, brother-in-law: Donald Richards, in-laws: Barbara (Bill) Belchak, Harold "Buck" (Pat) Schumann, Joyce (George) Shelagowski, Ernie (Ellen) Schumann, Neil (Sue) Schumann, Rich Schumann, Lloyd (Denise) Schumann, and Tammy (Steve) Pashak, her caregiver and friend Tiffany Wilson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
