Joyce Ann Shaffer, age 93, passed away on June 24, 2025.
She was born on September 4, 1931, in Alliance, to Elmer and Mamie (Haidet) Gibbs.
Joyce graduated from Alliance High School in 1949. She worked at both D-Con and Carnation Pet Foods. Joyce attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Mark Alan Monea; daughter, Kathleen Marie (Monea) Jones; step-son, Eric D. Shaffer; five grandchildren, Charles Melaney, Jason Monea, Sean Jones, Cody Jones, and Alyssa Monea; five great-grandchildren, Austin and Colin Melaney, Devon, Gavin, and Steven Jones; and two sisters, Jean Eberling and Judy (Bill) Ritchie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Walter J. Shaffer.
Visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 1st from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 2nd at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
