Joyce Jeanette Walters, age 87 of Nashville, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at her home. She was born on March 14, 1938 at her family’s homeplace west of Nashville to the late Edgar Lawrence McCrary and Billie Moss McCrary.
Joyce was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Nashville. She was a kind and faithful Christian that put others well before herself. She spent her life serving others as a registered nurse in a nursing home and later helping others at the Migrant Education Department at Hope. After her husband, Mike, fell ill with multiple sclerosis, she devoted her life to taking care of him. She was a proud mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of thirty-eight years, Mike Walters and two great-grandchildren Khali and Jagger Thompson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Fant and Terry and Pam Jeanes and (Richard); her brother and sister-in-law, Edgar Ware McCrary and Joan; five grandchildren, Jason Thompson, Joey Bennett, Danielle Greenfield, Cody Jeanes and Wesley Terwilliger; seventeen great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025 in the Latimer Funeral Chapel in Nashville with Steven Porter officiating. Interment will follow in County Line Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Nashville.
