Juan Acua Sr. lived, breathed, worked, fought, and loved for 81 years in this world. He did so until he was called to begin his next journey on July 08, 2024. Juan passed away in his beloved town of Tehachapi, CA surrounded by his wife and children at home. Juan was born in Long Beach, CA during the Second World War and was welcomed into this world by Cruz Acua and Elvira Porras. Juan attended Banning High School where he excelled in jokes and football until the 10th grade and spent the rest of his life educating himself. He emphasized the importance of education and knowing the value of hard work and an honest living. Juan was an avid reader, and had a love of Western novels by Don Coldsmith, Louis LAmour and many others. Juan Sr. had a natural talent for working with his hands. He learned many trades from many talented people in Tehachapi and worked hard to hone his craft, which he shared with his sons.Juan loved raising his dogs and Appaloosa horses and living on the West end of Cummings Valley. He loved breaking bread with others and was a natural storyteller, who shared easily with joy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Cruz & Frank. Juan is survived by his wife Marjorie, his sons Juan Jr. & Jason, his daughters Brandy, Elizabeth, Michelle, and his 8 grandchildren. Donations in his honor may be made to childrens hospitals, cancer research institutes, and scholarships for financially challenged students with high marks. A memorial service is forthcoming and will be held later at Wood Family Funeral Service in Tehachapi, CA.
