Juana “Janie” L. Marchan a longtime Waukesha resident passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the age of 97. She was born on January 27, 1926 in Lockhart, Texas the daughter of Amador and Rosa (Balandran) Llanas. On March 27, 1954 she was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Francisco “Frank” Marchan; he preceded her in death on November 30, 2013. Janie was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and member of the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed visits to the casino, traveling and cooking, especially tamale making. Her greatest joy was her family and she cherished family get togethers and the yearly family reunion.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Francisco Marchan Jr., Margarita (Juan) Olallo and Carolina (Baltazar) Caraballo; her grandchildren, Baltazar (Sara) Caraballo, Rosenda (Barry) Lazcano, Angelica Caraballo, Erica (Alex) Lopez, Amanda (Julian) Robles; great-grandchildren, Leticia (JD), Graciela, Julissa, Iris, Michael, Gabriela, Alex, Anthony Leo, Ariel and Brock; and great-great-granddaughter Camila Rosé. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters, Susie (the late Santos) Gomez, Pablo Llanas, and Charlie Llanas; sisters-in-law Dora Llanas, Angie Llanas and Carmen Llanas; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Socorro Llanas Torres, Josefina Llanas, Fidela Ybarra, Cristobal Llanas, Juan Llanas, Pedro (Olivia) Llanas Sr., Isidro Llanas, Mary (Alfredo) Marquez, Angelo (Juanita) Llanas, Walter Llanas and Inez Llanas.
The family would like to thank Nikki, Juana and André and the rest of the wonderful and caring staff of Waukesha Memorial Hospital for their special care regarding our dear mother Janie.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. funeral Mass at ST. WILLIAM CATHOLIC CHURCH, 440 N. Moreland Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53188. Interment will be at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery.
