Juanita Elam, age 75, of Gray, KY, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, at her home.
Born in Corbin, she was the daughter of Roscoe McCreary and Leona Jackson McCreary. Juanita worked for many years as a housekeeper and caregiver, where she nurtured both the homes and lives of others with kindness and dedication.
She loved cooking and baking, hunting for a good antique, horseback riding, and 4-wheeling. She took pride in her home and found joy in caring for it. Above all, Juanita loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them.
In addition to her father, Roscoe, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael McCreary and Norman “Pete” McCreary.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Lee Elam (Crystal); granddaughters, Jaiden and Addison Elam; mother, Leona Jackson McCreary; sister, Lisa Warren (Darrell); and brothers, Roger McCreary (Judy), Randy McCreary (Tonya), and Ronnie McCreary (Phyliss).
Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Charlie Humfleet and Rev. Darrell Warren officiating.
Burial will follow at Hollin Cemetery in Gray, KY.
