Juanita Millsaps

Juanita "Pup" Millsaps, age 90, passed away surrounded by her family on April 16, 2025 in Soddy Daisy, TN. Born November 17, 1934, in the same town, she remained a lifelong resident of the community she cherished.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norma Lee and Charlie Houston, by her loved husband of 57 years, A.G. Millsaps, her adored beloved grandson, Adam Privett and her sister Helen Settles Flippo.
Juanita dedicated over 40 years of her life to Brock Candy Company. She began work packing chocolate covered cherries, went on to further her education at Chattanooga Technical College earing a professional secretary degree then became Frank Brocks private secretary for many years. Her dedication and professionalism left an impression on colleagues and friends alike.
A woman of steadfast faith, Juanita was a devoted member of Daisy First Baptist Church, Daisy Order of the Eastern Star #328, and secretary of Daisy Dallas Lions Club. Her love for gospel and bluegrass music was a defining part of her life. Known for playing the standup bass fiddle, for many she brought joy through performances at bluegrass festivals and nursing homes. In her younger years she embraces life with enthusiasm, enjoying traveling, motorcycle rides and square dancing with AG, where they were known to "cut a rug" with energy and grace.
Juanita is lovingly remembered her only daughter, Darlene and son-in-law, Bobby Privett and several nieces and nephews. Their care and devotion brought comfort to her in her later years.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Chattanooga and Dayton, especially CNA Dawn and all the dedicated nurses who provided compassionate care during Juanitas final days.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
There will be a 2 hour visitation at the funeral home on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 1:00 till 3:00 p.m. with a graveside immediately following at Millsaps Cemetery with Pastor Calvin Nunley officiating.
