Judi K. Loudon, 73, of Norwalk, Iowa, passed away on December 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Born on April 15, 1951, to Paul and Berniece Downing, Judi grew up on the family farm, developing a deep appreciation for hard work and community. She graduated from Creston High School in 1969, a proud member of her class.

Judi called many places home throughout her life, but her heart always belonged to Creston, where she raised her three children: Traci, Brook, and Clint. Later in life, she found a second home on the serene island of Isla Mujeres, Mexico, where she and her husband, Dennis, created treasured memories in the beauty of the Caribbean.

Judi was fortunate to find love twice. She shared many wonderful years with her first husband, Craig Williamson, until his passing in 1984. She later found happiness again with Dennis Loudon and they were married in 1987. Together, they owned and operated the Knotty Pine Restaurant in Creston, where employees and patrons became lifelong friends. After retiring, Judi and Dennis split their time between traveling, supporting their grandchildren’s activities, and enjoying their island paradise in Isla Mujeres.

Judi’s zest for life was unparalleled. She loved to dance and sing, filling every room with joy. A gifted crafter, she created beautiful keepsakes that reflected her creativity. She had a flair for shopping and cultivated a legendary wardrobe, and was always ready to share a laugh or a heartfelt conversation.

Above all, Judi treasured her family and friends. Her warmth, kindness, and radiant spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Judi was preceded in death by her husband, Craig Williamson; her father, Paul Downing; and her mother, Berniece Downing.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis; her children, Traci (Tom) Lust, Brook (Cody) Adams, and Clint Williamson; her beloved grandchildren: Jai Lust, Camille Lust, Addison Lust, Samson Adams, Patton Adams, Winston Adams, and Posey Adams, who brought her immense pride and joy. She is also survived by her brother, Richard (Mary) Downing, and her nephews, as well as a wide circle of family and friends from Iowa to Isla Mujeres.

A celebration of Judi’s life will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center in Creston, Iowa. Rev. Tim Maxa will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, December 13th at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for the Lenox Walking Trail Project.

Judi’s family invites all who knew her to honor her memory by embracing life’s joys, cherishing loved ones, and dancing under the stars, wherever they may be.
