Judie Ann McDaniel, 74, passed away peacefully with her husband Frank at her side on February 28, 2024. She was born on August 1, 1949, in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Elma and Mary Medlock. She was raised in El Dorado, Arkansas and graduated from Washington High School. She was baptized at an early age at Evergreen Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas where she faithfully attended with her grandparents Harvey and Versa Bush and her sister Mae Waller.
Judie wed Frank McDaniel, Jr. on December 22, 1967. To this union were born 5 children: Melissa Jackson, Brittney Mitchell, Natasha McDaniel, Sylvia Lott and Frank McDaniel, III. She was a dedicated, loving and proud sister, military wife and mother. As an Army wife she and her family traveled around the world. There were 8 deployments in which she always ensured that her family's transitions were smooth and seamless. She committed herself to creating and maintaining a home filled with kindness, patience and love each and every place they moved. She always prioritized the needs of her family over her own.
Judie's most treasured accomplishments were her marriage of 56 years, her children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren. She truly loved her family and alongside her husband she managed to keep the family home full of love, laughter, and great food. She held everyone down no matter what the crisis. She was a true and loyal friend with many invaluable and long-lasting friendships. She met no strangers, whether bingo buddies or other military vies. She had an enormous heart, and her generosity was unmatched. She opened her home to any and all and had a way of making everyone feel at ease and welcomed.
Judie had a zest for life. She was quick witted and relished lively exchanges. She was outgoing, lively, and had an adventurous spirit. She had an infectious laugh and a bright smile. She was a snazzy dresser and was well known for her platinum blond short afro. Judie enjoyed traveling, gaming, cooking, dancing and gardening. She took pride in her husband's hard work of keeping the lawn manicured and tending to her roses and hibiscus. She loved listening to the blues and was often in the kitchen singing and whipping up some of the best chicken and dressing.
Judie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harvey and Versa Bush; her parents Elma and Mary Medlock and her grandson Joshua McDaniel.
Her life and legacy will live on with cherished memories with her loving husband Frank McDaniel, Jr.; her children Melissa Jackson, Brittney (Kendall) Mitchell, Natasha McDaniel, Sylvia (Chris) Lott, and Frank McDaniel, III. Her adoring sisters; Mae (Eugene) Williams and her grandchildren, Joseph Jackson, Miko Mosley, Meghan Mosley, Sequoyah (Shane) S'Moore, Trinity Lewis, Tristain Lewis, Addison Briggs, Brinkley McDaniel, her great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 11:00 am at Faith Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. John W. Peoples, officiating. Burial will be held at Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK on the following Monday.
