Judith “Judi” Lorelei (Gephart) Jones, age 85 of Pine Village, IN, passed away unexpectedly at her home on February 7, 2025.
Judi was born on July 26, 1939 in Lafayette, IN. She was the daughter of Eugene Isaac and Helen Agnes (Anderson) Gephart. Judi was raised in Lafayette, IN, graduating from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1957. She then graduated from Stephens College. After graduation, she lived in New York City and the Los Angeles area. She moved to Pine Village in 1977 and had resided there since. Judi married Joseph Dean Jones in Lafayette, IN on February 16, 1980.
Judi worked as a flight attendant for TWA. She flew with various planes, traveling overseas to a number of different places. After retiring from her career as a flight attendant, she enjoyed working as a farm wife.
Judi had attended the Pine Village United Methodist Church. She enjoyed attending Scherer’s Auction. Judi was a needlepoint queen and enjoyed sharing with her friends and family. She was a motorhead, she loved racing and enjoyed going to the Indy 500 and stock car races. Judi was an avid sports fan, especially women’s basketball.
Surviving with her husband, Joe, are:
5 children, Jana D. Jones of Pine Village, IN, Jeanna K. Jones of Pine Village, IN, Jay Gowen Jones of Pine Village, IN, Jennifer L. Gick (Alan) of Fowler, IN, Amber N. Liu (George) of Bloomington, IL;
7 grandchildren, Gowen Eugene Jones, Gwendolyn Claire Jones, Izaac Graeme Joseph Jones,
Ashley Corns (Mark), Brittney Gick, Kieran Liu, and Delaney Liu;
1 great-grandson, Riley Corns
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until funeral service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Link officiating. Interment will follow at Mound Cemetery.
