Judith Ann Harrison
1945 - 2024
Judith Ann Harrison died on August 2, 2024 at Lawson Manor care facility following a long illness.
Judy was born August 7, 1945 to Douglas Harrison and Vearl Guymon Harrison in Ferron, Utah. She was born one day after the bombing of Japan that ended World War II. She spent her earliest years on her maternal grandparents' farm in Utah. By high school, she had moved to California when her mother remarried. Although she attended several high schools, she loved California and always considered it home.
Judy graduated from Brigham Young University in 1966 with a degree in political science. She went to the University of Louisville to earn her master's degree in social work in 1976. Not long after completing her graduate degree, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to begin her career in social work. She worked for various hospitals and clinics in Cincinnati and made it her home.
She made many friends throughout her life. Her ability to keep life-long friends has been her greatest asset. She retired from social work in 2016 about the same time as receiving the devasting diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. In 2023 she moved to Missouri to be closer to her sister.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents and two brothers, Edward Harrison and Bruce Alger.
Judy is survived by one brother, Ralph (Elaine) Alger of Pleasant Grove, UT, and two sisters, Janet Daniels of Orem, UT, and Alicyn Studyvin of Cameron, MO.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who considered her Santa when they were small and received her generous Christmas and birthday presents. She will be missed by countless life-long friends from Ohio.
The family would like to thank Carriage Court, Mallard Cove, Lawson Manor, and Three Rivers Hospice for her care.
Judy will be cremated with no service as was her wish.
Please consider raising a toast and donating to your favorite charity or the Alzheimer's Organization in Judy's memory.

Judy was my Social Work manager at Bethesda North Hospital from 1987-92. She was a great mentor. In spite of her dementia, when I'd see her at Carriage Court she still enjoyed reminiscing about our departmental antics using the crazy sense of humor most of us had. It's how we maintained our sanity.
Judy, we'll miss you. Thank you for all of your years of dedication as one fine social worker. May God rest your caring soul. -Trish (Kayser) Szabo
