Judith A. Lobes

Judith A. (VerGowe) Lobes, passed away Wednesday evening, November 2, 2022 at her home in Gibbsville surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was 81 years old.
Judith was born November 19, 1940 in Sheboygan, the daughter of Jess and Alma (Ludens) VerGowe. She attended Gibbsville Elementary and Oostburg High School.
On October 6, 1961, she was united in marriage with Philip W. Lobes, Jr. at Gibbsville Church. The two celebrated 61 years together in October filled with love and many cherished memories.
Over her life, Judith worked at many places including Gibbsville Cheese, Tilibia Cheese, Lake Church Shoe Factory, Larson Canning and Otte Bus. She retired driving bus from Otte after nearly 15 years.
Judith was a lifelong member of Gibbsville Church. She volunteered in various ways, including Meals on Wheels, Prison Ministry at Taycheedah, Sheboygan County Comprehensive Healthcare Center, and making prayer shawls, baby hats and blankets. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, knitting, cooking, baking and collecting elephants, collector plates, and cup and saucer sets.
Judith is survived by her husband of 61 years, Phil and their sons: Philip J. Lobes and Peter J. Lobes, both of Oostburg. She is further survived by sister-in-law Diane VerGowe of the Town of Lima, brother-in-law Ed Krenke of Sheboygan Falls, sister-in-law Audrey Damrow of Oostburg, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Caroline Krenke and brother Jim VerGowe.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Gibbsville Church, N3145 State Road 32 in Sheboygan Falls. The family will receive visitors at the Wenig Funeral Home – Oostburg on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 4:00-7:00PM and again on Wednesday at church from 10:00-11:00AM. She will be laid to rest at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in her name to Campus Life.
